International Translation Day
at Word on the Street
August
29 , 2002
This
year ATINS will celebrate International Translation Day in
conjunction with Word on the Street. On Sunday, Sept. 29,
between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. we will be sharing a table in the
Village at Pier 20 with the Editors Association of Canada
(EAC).
This is your chance to take part in the very first of what
we hope will become an annual event for ATINS. We would like
to schedule people to work in pairs for one-hour shifts at
the ATINS booth. So please sign up for a shift: get to know
a colleague better, meet some editors, and then explore the
rest of the Word on the Street festival.
Our presence at WOTS is an excellent opportunity to promote
ourselves and our Association. Copies of the ATINS directory
and brochure will be available at the booth. We invite individual
members to add their business cards to the display by mailing
them to: ATINS, P.O. Box 372, Halifax, N.S. B3J 2P8.
Also at the booth, there will be copies of Circuit magazine
and a poster announcing that we are celebrating International
Translation Day. Other suggestions for our 4`of tabletop are
welcome.
To volunteer for a shift or to suggest other materials for
the display, phone Colleen Heenan at 425-8242 or send an e-mail
to: Colleen.Heenan@ns.sympatico.ca.
Lets
all join in this community celebration of reading and writing
on Translation Day!
