Certification Exam Application

Below are the steps to follow to submit a certification exam application:

  1. Read the CTTIC Certification Exam Criteria and Requirements to determine if you qualify to write the exam.
  2. Gather all documentation required and send you dossier to:

  3. If you qualify for the exam, the Certification Committee will send you a confirmation letter. You will then receive an information package for the next registration period (usually during the Fall following your qualification). The certification exam is held once a year in February.

The next CTTIC certification examination in translation will be held in March.

The national translation certification examination will consist of two texts: one compulsory general text and a choice between two specialized texts. All texts will be approximately 175-185 words in length.

Please note that the use of any type of electronic device during the examination is strictly prohibited. (Electronic devices include but are not limited to cell phones, pagers, Blackberries ®, iPods®, laptop computers and tablets).

Any such use will lead to the candidate's disqualification; the examination will not be marked and the fee will not be refunded.

Time and place to be announced at a later date.

Applications should be in by November 30, 2009. The fee is $175.00 per candidate and per exam .
