We invite you to arrive a few minutes early and share in coffee, tea, juice and conversation with your fellow members. The meeting will begin promptly at 10:00 a.m..

The next CTTIC certification examination in translation will be held Saturday, February 25, 2012

Time and place to be announced at a later date.


Deadline for registration is December 1st, 2011. The examination fee is $200.00 (including taxes) payable once your application for writing the examination is approved.


Please note that the use of any type of electronic device during the examination is strictly prohibited. (Electronic devices include but are not limited to cell phones, pagers, Blackberries ®, iPods®, laptop computers and tablets).


Any such use will lead to the candidate's disqualification; the examination will not be marked and the fee will not be refunded.



Anyone wanting to write the certification exam should read the information available on ATINS Website regarding criteria and requirements. For additional information, please write to certification@atins.org

ATINS elects a new Board of Directors

Halifax, NS – The Association of Translators and Interpreters of Nova Scotia (ATINS) elected a new Board of Directors at its Annual General Meeting on Saturday, May 30, 2009.

The Board of Directors 2009-2010 is composed of Bruce Knowlden (President), Melany Close (Vice-President), Claudine Bertin (Secretary), Isabelle Pédot (Treasurer), Karima Bushra, Véronique LeBreton, Bassima O'Brien, Martha Carrera Orellana and Rufino Perez de la Sierra (Directors).

Mission

The Association of Translators and Interpreters of Nova Scotia attests the competence of its certified members and informs the public of the availability of its members’ services. It provides its members with opportunities for mutual support and professional development. It speaks on their behalf.

Vision

To be the provincially recognized professional association for translators, interpreters, and terminologists to which practicing professionals want to belong.

The Association of Translators and Interpreters of Nova Scotia confers the titles Certified Translator, Certified Terminologist and Certified Interpreter.

The Association of Translators and Interpreters of Nova Scotia is a member of the Canadian Translators, Terminologists and Interpreters Council, which is a member of the International Federation of Translators.

ATINS is also a member of the Metropolitan Halifax Chamber of Commerce.
