ATINS elects a new Board of Directors

Halifax, NS – The Association of Translators and Interpreters of Nova Scotia (ATINS) elected a new Board of Directors at its Annual General Meeting on Saturday, May 30, 2009.
The Board of Directors 2009-2010 is composed of Bruce Knowlden (President), Melany Close (Vice-President), Claudine Bertin (Secretary), Isabelle Pédot (Treasurer), Karima Bushra, Véronique LeBreton, Bassima O'Brien, Martha Carrera Orellana and Rufino Perez de la Sierra (Directors).
Mission
The Association of Translators and Interpreters of Nova Scotia attests the competence of its certified members and informs the public of the availability of its members’ services. It provides its members with opportunities for mutual support and professional development. It speaks on their behalf.
Vision
To be the provincially recognized professional association for translators, interpreters, and terminologists to which practicing professionals want to belong.
The Association of Translators and Interpreters of Nova Scotia confers the titles Certified Translator, Certified Terminologist and Certified Interpreter.
The Association of Translators and Interpreters of Nova Scotia is a member of the Canadian Translators, Terminologists and Interpreters Council, which is a member of the International Federation of Translators.
ATINS is also a member of the Metropolitan Halifax Chamber of Commerce.
